From August 15 to late September, join biologists and naturalist guides on a relaxing yet exhilarating float on the Atnarko River in comfortably equipped river rafts on an exploration of salmon spawning areas to watch grizzly bears feeding on migrating Pacific salmon. Trips are offered daily and meet directly in Tweedsmuir Park (at Fisheries Pool Campground) to float the clear waters of the Atnarko River in our professionally equipped river rafts, among the majesty of towering snow-capped coast mountains. Grizzly Bears are the primary animals we will see on these tours, and emphasis on their ecology, habits and life cycles will be explained. Family units of sow grizzly bears and cubs are often seen on these tours, as well as a variety of lone juvenile bears and adults.
Excellent photography opportunities!

Eco rafting river tour professional gudes bella coola river   Eco rafting river tour professional gudes bella coola river
From June to August float the Bella Coola River, a classic Heritage River of BC, in the footsteps of millennia of First Nations residents and traders, and more recently the explorer Alexander Mackenzie, who in 1793 paddled the Bella Coola River to the Pacific Ocean, completing the first European crossing of North America. On this half day journey expect to see eagles, salmon, bird life and spectacular riverscape scenery of glacier creeks, cascading waterfalls, old growth forest and more. Guided by enthusiastic naturalists and local guides, this tour is a perfect introduction to the ecology of the coastal temperate habitat of the Great Bear Rain Forest, bear habitat of the region, and of course the lifecycle of the keystone species of the area, the Pacific Salmon!
Suited to Families!

Eco Rafting Tours will meet at Kynoch Adventures Office (1896 Hwy 20) 15 minutes prior to Departure Time.
